Kyle and I had the opportunity to head out to Grand Haven for a night while Grandma Dee stayed with the kids (thanks Grandma!). With the recent ice storms we've had, there was some pretty incredible photography floating around with pictures of Lake Michigan lighthouses and beaches, and we were eager to see the State Park for ourselves.

The channel was completely frozen over, with ice balls on the surface |
The sand mostly looked like sand, but I was surprised to see how much snow was sitting on top of the lake
The wave wrapped itself right around the light pole and froze |
The pier was a solid sheet of ice, and we weren't able to venture out far |
If I'm walking on the lake is it technically swimming? |
We never did see any water. It was snow and ice as far as the eye could see. |
