Pirate Adventures

In a rather refreshing change of pace, the girls have been getting into a new (at least to them) show, Jake and the Neverland Pirates.  This is one of those rare non-princess things that holds their attention.  Megan requested a Jake sword for Christmas.  Against my better judgment, I not only ok'd the idea of giving her a weapon, but I suggested to Aunt Becky, who was fishing for Christmas ideas, that Hannah get one too (hey, if they're going to be fighting, it's at least going to be fair).  Aunt Becky came through with a whole slew of new pirate toys, which they have been enjoying immensely.

Ready for pirate adventures, with their swords, telescope and gold doubloon shooter (Daddy's favorite)

To avoid a mutiny in the throes of cabin fever, I rearranged our living room to create a pirate ship for them

My little swashbucklers

This stuffed Santa served as Captain Hook, who they routinely would find and stab to death with their swords.  This game made them way too happy for me to intervene on the whole violence-is-bad thing.

At night, the ship doubled as a tent, though there was not much sleep to be had.
