Christmas decorating day

Megan LOVES Black Friday, and not for the deals.  It's the day we historically decorate for Christmas, and girlfriend loves her some Christmas decorations!

It's time to get started!  Sorting through their ornaments.
Megan made a custom stocking for Mr Rick.
Hannah would not rest until we located these stuffed reindeer - her faves
Never underestimate the fun of a Christmas tree box
New tradition - falling asleep in front of the Christmas tree
It worked for the little one!
The other was not so easy to knock out...

It doesn't snow in Mexico

Kyle and I snuck away to Mexico for a quick getaway.  It was initially scheduled solely for the virtues of peace and quiet, but for added benefit, we got a major, and EARLY, snowstorm in Michigan just before we left.  We considered ourselves lucky to fly out at scheduled, arriving safely and on-time in Cancun.

Ahhh, much better
This view is second only to the ocean
Meanwhile, back at the ranch... YUCK!
Life under a tiki hut is sooo much better
Margaritas and lobster, al fresco dining.  This is not our real life, but we had so much fun pretending otherwise.
A break from the beach.  Variety is the spice of life.
If you can swing it, I highly recommend running away to Mexico with a married man.
The view from the breakfast table.
Heavenly.
Coming home isn't so bad either...
The girls have a special way of welcoming Daddy back.

Snow-Vember

We just experienced the snowiest November in Michigan history.  This is not a record I am proud of!

This should not be happening!
Nor should this!  Are you kidding me?!?
MAKE IT STOP!
Unfortunately, the unit of measurement on the left is inches...
Blessed with an early snow day, Megan made herself quite a to-do list
We got to see a movie with our friends!
Yay for "Alexander and Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day"
Megan got a little Q.T. with Baby Emery, too.  All in all, a great snow day for her!

Hudson's Fearsome Five Fiesta

Hannah was invited to a friend's birthday party from preschool.  It was Ninja Turtle themed, and girlfriend was pumped to attend!

The sweet Mom of the birthday boy offered to seek out a gluten free cupcake for her, but we whipped a batch up at home for her to enjoy.  This gluten-free gal was now ready to party!
Adorable favor bags!  (Megan scored an invite as well - lucky lady!)
Face painting!
Hello there, Dona-Megan!
The *real* Turtles appeared!  How cool!
Pinatas!
And the best part?  They had orange pop!
Posing with Michaelangelo
What a raging Turtle party!

Parent teacher conferences

We had a great report from Megan's teacher on her progress so far this year.  We're so proud of our second-grader!  While we were waiting for conference time, the Sisters got a bit silly in the hallway...

Fun with Aunt Mandy

Aunt Mandy's in town!  Aunt Mandy's in town!  We made a trip over to Grandpa Garry and Grandma Suzy's to hang out with her on a lovely fall afternoon.

Hide and seek was on the agenda
Hannah's hiding...somewhere
Grandpa kindly made them this huge pile of leaves to destroy
I'm sure he enjoyed raking them all back up later...
